GoHighLevel vs HubSpot: which one should you run on?
By Mike Petritis, President · Updated October 31, 2026
The short answer
HighLevel is usually the better fit when you want CRM, texting, calling, email, and automation in one platform at a flat price, and someone qualified will build it. HubSpot is usually the better fit when you need deeper reporting, finer permissions, and a larger app ecosystem, and the per-seat cost doesn't hurt.

Where HighLevel wins
- Cost at size. Adding a person doesn't add a seat fee, so the gap grows with your team.
- One platform. CRM, text, calling, email, calendars, funnels, and workflows sit in one place.
- Several locations or brands. Each one can have its own sub-account.
- Contact growth. Listed plans don't charge more as your database grows.
Where HubSpot wins
- Reporting. Most independent comparisons rate HubSpot's reporting deeper, and that matches what we see.
- Permissions and governance. Larger teams with strict access rules get more control.
- Ecosystem. More tools connect out of the box, and more people already know it.
- Ease of ownership. A smaller team can run it with less specialist help.
The catch with HighLevel
HighLevel gives you more tools for less money, and it leaves more of the design work to you. Pipelines, data structure, automation, phone compliance, and reporting all have to be set up well, or the savings turn into a system your team doesn't trust. That's why the build matters more than the subscription.
Usage is the other catch. Texts, calls, email, and AI are billed on top of the plan. HighLevel's page shows that clearly, but it's easy to leave out of a budget.
How to decide
Choose HighLevel if most of your CRM work is sales, marketing, and customer follow-up, your seat count is what's driving the bill, and you have a plan for who builds and owns it.
Stay on HubSpot if leadership depends on its reports, your access rules are complex, or the savings wouldn't cover the cost of moving. A smaller HubSpot tier may also solve the problem. Sales Hub Professional lists at $90 to $100 a seat.
